Troubling Experience, Will never use again

First off, people were nice. Liked Eric (service guy), but whole experience just wasn't what I expected. I originally had an appointment scheduled two weeks ago (after waiting 2 weeks initially after making first appointment, which was to be expected, ok with that), but then received a call on day of 1st appointment and said that they wouldn't be able to make it due to heavy work load (which I get too). When I asked for rescheduling a new appointment, they said it'd be another 2 weeks before they could get to me. This was the point I began to question the professionalism of your company. I figured since this rescheduling was your fault, you'd work with me a little more and get someone out to my house a little sooner. Not! Said you couldn't manage it. So, the person rescheduling me for 2 weeks later said she give me a $10.00 discount (which never happened in the end, but whatever), and so I rescheduled. Yesterday, Eric showed up, did the "performance check" and said everything looked great except 2 items: ignitor and motor/wheel both bad, since it was vibrating (Eric even grabbed onto the wheel and said the seals wear out and then there's excess movement causing the wheel to be out of balance). He told me I could be confident in his diagnosis since he's been doing this for 15 years, which I didn't question since again, nice guy. I asked him to write up a quote and came back as $1,081.39. I then asked him to send someone over to give me an estimate for a new system since I figured a thousand bucks would be better used to go to that considering the age of my furnace. After meeting with John, nice guy as well, and getting everything in front of me, I decided I had better do some additional homework, which I did. I called a couple of other heating/cooling companies around and spoke to some of their service guys and one of them to instructed me to look further in on the wheel to see if there was anything resting on the wheel (paper, lint ball, etc.), which ultimately could cause the vibration that I was getting (which both Eric and John said were symptoms of a bad motor and wheel). After looking at the wheel further, I did find a rather large piece of insulation on the wheel itself. I simply pulled out the insulation, restarted the furnace and whalaa, smooth running motor and wheel (which cost me $0.00). Fortunately I like the outcome cause I'm a $1,000 ahead, but unfortunately for you, these 2 instances show a serious lack of professionalism. Good luck to you, I'll be looking elsewhere from now on.
